Fayetteville Public Schools’ annual District Art Show is now on display at the Fayetteville Public Library! We loved seeing students and families enjoying the artwork together at the reception, featuring over 140 pieces from Kindergarten through 12th grade.

The exhibit highlights the incredible talent of our students and the inspiring work happening in our Visual Arts classrooms across the district. You can view the collection in the McIlroy Hallway near the Event Center until April 6th.

It’s School Resource Officer Day! SRO’s play an important part in our schools by not only promoting safety, but by bridging the gaps between law enforcement and our youth.

SROs are carefully selected, specifically trained, sworn law enforcement officers assigned to work with schools using community-oriented policing concepts.

Learning was on the move at Vandergriff Elementary with a new book on their StoryWalk trail. Students were spotted reading “I Don’t Want to Go to Sleep!” as they traveled from station to station.

Bud Walton Arena was packed on Friday as more than 10,000 elementary students cheered on the Lady Razorbacks. The Arkansas Razorbacks took on UAPB during Elementary Day, and the energy was unmatched! Students, teachers, and staff attended for free, and the Lady Razorbacks brought home a big win with a final score of 101 to 49. BEST DAY EVER ! 🏀❤️🐗

This year, Vandergriff Elementary celebrated 30 years of learning, community, and Grizzly pride with a special event honoring this milestone! 🎉

The school welcomed back dozens of former teachers, staff members, and administrators for a heartfelt assembly honoring the people and moments that have shaped Vandergriff through the years. Guests shared memories, smiles, and stories that reminded us just how much love and dedication have gone into this school community. 💙🐻

Fayetteville Firefighters spent the day with Vandergriff Elementary students, teaching important fire safety tips and sharing how to stay safe in an emergency. Thank you to our local heroes for bringing learning to life and keeping our students safe! 🔥🚒

All Fayetteville Public Schools fourth graders filled the FHS Performing Arts Center for two performances of “The Orchestra Moves,” an interactive concert experience brought to life by the Arkansas Philharmonic Orchestra in partnership with Carnegie Hall’s Link Up program. 📚❤️ Vandergriff Elementary hosted a Family Night and revealed a new Story Walk honoring former teacher and friend, Maureen Shireman. ❤️📚 Mrs. Shireman had a passion for reading and writing and worked tirelessly to instill a desire to learn in each student. Thanks to the efforts of her family, friends, and the amazing Vandergriff staff, this Story Walk will continue to share her love for learning with future generations. We were honored to have author Melissa Stewart join us for the dedication. Her book “Tree Hole Homes” is the first book installed on the Story Walk. The evening was made even more special with a family night featuring fun activities led by Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, U of A Entomology Department, the Amazeum, and Pearl's Books. 🦋🦌🔬 Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate this beautiful tribute to Mrs. Shireman. McNair Middle School Gifted & Talented students are presenting their “Adventure Through Narnia” immersive art experience this week! With interactive sets using light, sound, and visuals, students are bringing the story of the “Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe” to life! Students have worked on the project this semester using recycled materials to create their collaborative art experiment. We love this creative way of learning!
