ALLPS School of Innovation hosted its annual citywide kickoff for Black History Month today! The celebration honorees included Ms. Megan Tullock, Dr. Denise Hoy, and special guest and honoree Coach Nolan Richardson. Mayor Lioneld Jordan attended with a proclamation declaring February as Black History Month for the city of Fayetteville. 1961 Fayetteville High graduate Mrs. Jimmye Whitfield presented an interactive keynote address to inspire the students to be more aware of themselves and to harness their inner strength.
The kickoff event ended with music provided by DJ Derrick and dancing led by Cardio Groove!
ALLPS will continue to celebrate Black History all through the month of February with special guests, field trips, and student events.
