April’s Harvest of the Month is the ravishing RED LEAF LETTUCE!

 This month, students and staff will sample “Red Leaf Lettuce with Tangy Dressing” during their lunchtime taste tests. The lettuce was locally grown by New South Growers Cooperative in Central Arkansas. Lettuce can grow in both heads and leaves! Red leaf lettuce grows from a stalk into a bunch of leaves. It’s red and curly edges often make it a decorative garnish, but it is both delicious and nutritious! It has many nutrients like vitamin A and vitamin K and, it’s also great in salads, sautéd, and grilled.
